SIIL supports a number of community-based sporting activities, ranging from sponsorship of local teams, to broadcasting competitions and supporting youth participation and skills development.

2010

Qatar Volleyball Association

Qatar Volleyball Association organized a Mini Volleyball festival. Being an organization with a firm commitment to support the development of sports in the nation and an organization that doesn’t hesitate to invest in youth SIIL came forward as the sole sponsor of the event. The festival took place in the presence of HE  Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Secretary General Qatar National Olympic Committee. A number of QVBA senior officials, administrators, representatives of local clubs, parents, media, referees and coaches attended the festival. SIIL was happy to provide the participants with Volleyball Equipment and kits and encourage them to display the highest values of sportsmanship.

 

2009

SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Qatar Volleyball Association (QVBA) in association with Salam International and LG conducted the highly successful “School Volleyball Development Programme” for the third consecutive year. The programme involved the participation of about 1293 students from 93 schools in Qatar, coincided with the Schools Olympic Day events. SIIL were the title sponsors along with LG as co- sponsors.  The program helped in sourcing talent from the schools for the Qatar National team as well as identifying talent at the primary level. SIIL was delighted that as a result of the support it helped shape the future of the youngsters under the competent trainers, prior to their graduation to higher ranks.

 

QATAR OLYMPIC COMMITTEE’S SCHOOL’S OLYMPIC PROGRAM

Salam International was honoured to sponsor the opening ceremony of Qatar Olympic Committee’s School’s Olympic Program. The School’s Olympic program took place in September 2009. The successful ceremonial opening was held at the Aspire Academy. The much loved Lebanese band Toyour Al Jannah added glitter to the occasion. Qatar Olympic Committee graciously thanked SIIL for sponsoring the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by top level officials from the Qatar Olympic Committee and SIIL was represented by our Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Hussam Abu Issa.

 

2008

School Volleyball Development Programme

The Qatar Volleyball Association (QVBA) in association with Salam International as title sponsor and LG as co-sponsor conducted a highly successful “School Volleyball Development Programme” The program involved the participation of the students from Qatar, coincided with the Schools Olympic Day events. The program would help in sourcing talent from the schools for the Qatar National team as well as identifying talent at the primary level and help shape the future of the youngsters under competent trainers prior to their graduation to the higher ranks.

 

Philippine Independence Invitational Golf Tournament


Salam Sponsored the 2nd Philippine Independence Invitation Golf Tournament held at the Championship Course of the Doha Golf Club and it was a resounding success. The event was organised by the Philippine Golf Association Qatar (PGAQ), who were able to donate funds to the event’s beneficiaries who were typhoon Frank’s victims. The Typhoon brought untold suffering and devastation to millions of Filipinos nationwide.

 

2007

Philippine Independence Invitational Golf Tournament


Salam sponsored the 2nd Philippine Independence Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Championship Course of the Doha Golf Club and it was a resounding success. The event was organised by The Philippine Golf Association Qatar (PGAQ), who were able to donate funds to the event’s beneficiary, Gawad Kalinga, for the construction of two modest size homes for the poor. Gawad Kalinga is a Filipino foundation which caters to the poorest of the poor Filipinos living in rural Philippines and in the slum areas of the major cities of the nation.
